Vintage Collage, 2024-04-26

Lovely collage that made for a great puzzle. Very similar to the Vintage Dress Making puzzle I did recently, and I worked on it much in the same way, putting in pieces here and there without any plan.

Vintage Collage by Aimee Stewart, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on April 26, 2024.

Frog Business, 2024-04-24

Colourful frog collage of frogs. The frogs I know from Finland are all the same dark green colour, but these certainly made for a more entertaining puzzle.

Frog Business by Lori Anzalone, Cobble Hill, 1000 pieces. Completed on April 24, 2024.

Jurassic Habitat, 2024-04-22

Another puzzle from my favourite series, Funky Zoo by Marino Degano. I only have three more of these, and there will ne no new one this year, so I’m making them last.

Jurassic Habitat by Marino Degano, Heye, 1000 pieces. Completed on April 22, 2024.

Some rabbits want to usher in a new era (Dinos out – Mammals in):

The dinos also seems aware that they’re in danger:

Some of the recurring characters are here again, like the cleaning lady, and the mother who drops her child:

Mysterious Atlantis, 2024-04-19

A fantasy map, with a few actual places (Rapa Nui, Thebes), some place names that are almost real (like Africus, Europas) as well as complete fantasy places (like Atlantis, Valhalla). This was actually more challenging than I was expecting, and I’m not sure it was a good idea to start with edges, given the border, but for some reason, I did. I spent quite a lot of time looking at the box with this one.

Mysterious Atlantis, Ravensburger, 1000 pieces. Completed on April 19, 2024.

Hallstatt, 2024-04-17

This was very enjoyable. I like the way the cosy indoor scene is brought into the very traditional landscape. There are photographic puzzles of this exact view, without the indoor scene, of course. Hallstatt is a town in Austria, known for its salt mines.

Hallstatt by David McLean, Clementoni, 1000 pieces. Completed on April 17, 2024.

To the Moon, 2024-04-13

I really loved this image of a child’s desk! The vinyl discs, the radio and the paper 3D-glasses puts this somewhere in the past, maybe the 80s (although the radio looks older). There’s a single puzzle piece below the baseball 😀 Unfortunately, there was no indication of an artist on the box. Quality was great, as usual with Clementoni. I think I’ll keep this one.

UPDATE: Hurrayforpuzzles told me that it’s an Aimee Stewart image. I guess I should have known.

To the Moon, Clementoni, 500 pieces. Completed on April 13, 2024.

Titanic White Star, 2024-04-15

Posting is late, but I worked on this on the actual anniversary of the shipwreck, which is the night between April 14 and 15. I’ve done at least five Titanic-themed puzzles over the years, but this was the last still in my to-do pile.

The quality was really good for a Master Pieces puzzle – they can be a bit hit and miss.

Titanic White Star, Master Pieces, 1000 pieces. Completed on April 15, 2024.

Donuts, 2024-04-12

This is a puzzle from the Ravensburger Circle of Colors series. I worked the puzzle from the inside out, and didn’t look at the box image, because it just didn’t seem helpful with this puzzle. The changing colours were enough of a guide what to look for next. I was expecting the edges to be a bit difficult, but with the excellent Ravensburger cut, that was quite easy, too. Very enjoyable puzzle!

Donuts by Liv Wan, Ravensburger, 500 pieces. Completed on April 12, 2024.

Threaten by a Foreign Crunch, 2024-04-12

“Threaten by a Foreign Crunch” is what it says on the box, but I would translate the Finnish title as “Threatened by external danger” or “When an external danger threatens”. The duck certainly looks terrified.

Anyway, I enjoyed the puzzle a lot. I did the duck and the window first, and then I was afraid it would become difficult, but the cut was good and there was still enough differences in shade.

Threaten by a Foreign Crunch by Kaj Stenvall, Tactic, 1000 pieces. Completed on April 12, 2024.

This was the last of the Stenvall duck puzzles, there are 30 in all. I started collecting them in early 2019, and by the summer I already had 29 of the 30 puzzles. I had to wait until January 2021 before I got the last one. Now that I’ve completed them all I’m going to sell them to make room for new puzzles. Here they all are:
